The following was taken from the Yorkshire Regiment website

Killed in action 31 Jul 1917. Son of James Rose, watch and clock maker of High St, Yarm and Emma his wife. He had been born in Yarm and was living there on his enlistment at Middlesbrough in Nov 1915. Ypres Reservoir Cem, Belgium

Yarm1914 believe that James William was born in 1896 in Yarm and lived in a 5 roomed house in the High Street with his parents James 43 from Sowerby and Emma 36 from Great Ayton, his brother Harry 10 and sisters Elsie 7 and Carrie 1. By 1911 Harry had moved out, Carrie was a draper's assistant and James William was a grocers errand boy.
